David L. Cook and Brody Shanklin handle licensing, discipline, property and sales tax assessments, and other matters before administrative agencies.
Many government agencies have boards or commissions that enforce the laws and regulations pertaining to the agency’s area of regulatory concern. Administrative matters we see most frequently involve issues of obtaining or renewing business and professional licenses; disciplinary proceedings regarding business and professional licenses; and property and sales tax disputes. Other types of Administrative matters include collecting a large lottery prize, dealing with environmental spills and contamination, and obtaining certification for minority businesses to participate in government contracts. Most administrative matters allow only limited review by a court, so experienced representation is needed from the start.
